the artist

Certified public accountant turned cake artist Cathy Reppert launched Truly Scrumptious, LLC, in September of 2003 and in 2010 opened Truly Scrumptious Cake Studio located in Kingston, Pennsylvania. She is continually in demand and known throughout the region for her “passion” – creating delicious desserts and one-of-a-kind cakes for weddings, showers, birthdays and other special celebrations.

inspiration & training

Cathy’s mother inspired her early talents in the kitchen by helping her bake cakes as a child, beginning at the tender age of eight. Later on, Cathy learned about cake decorating from notables like Kim Morrison, Elisa Strauss, Colette Peters, Ron Ben-Israel and Scott Clark Woolley. To further her skills, she also attended numerous demonstrations offered by the French Culinary Institute and the International Cake Exploration Society (ICES). She stays up-to-date on the latest trends through continuing education at various cake decorating classes and conferences.

business & education experience

Cathy holds a bachelor of arts in economics from Lafayette College and a master of business administration in accounting from Rutgers University. She holds a certified public accountant license In Trust in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

community involvement

Overcoming three diagnoses of cancer in 1997, 1999 and 2010 Cathy has made it a point to reach out to others with serious health challenges and has been generous in helping organizations throughout her community. She has served on the boards of the Junior League of Scranton, Wyoming Seminary Parents Association, and the Friendship House of Scranton.

She is a member of Circle 200 – a forum for executive women in Northeastern PA. Her generosity has touched the Women’s Resource Center, Susan G. Komen NEPA, The Scranton Cultural Center, Muscular Dystrophy Association, the Ronald McDonald House and most recently the NYC chapter of “Wish Upon a Wedding”, the world’s first nonprofit wish-granting organization providing weddings and vow renewals for couples facing terminal illness and serious life-altering circumstances.
